PEDIATRIC MEDICINE PHYSICIANS are specialists in
the comprehensive medical care of children.
Pediatricians perform routine physical examinations,
educate and counsel patients and their parents about
preventative health issues, and treat patients in the
office and hospital for a variety of simple and complex
illnesses. Some pediatricians perform minor surgical
procedures. All pediatricians work closely with medical
“subspecialists” and other physicians when a patient’s
illness requires consultation.
INTERNAL MEDICINE PHYSICIANS are specialists in
the comprehensive medical care of adults. They are
also known as primary care physicians, or "internists."
Internists perform routine physical examinations,
educate and counsel patients about preventive health
issues, and treat patients in the office and hospital for
a variety of simple and complex illnesses. Some
internists perform minor surgical procedures. All
internists work closely with medical "subspecialists"
and other physicians when a patient's illness requires
consultation.
Cottonwood Medical Center, Ltd. provides a full
range of diagnostic radiography services including:

Abdominal Radiography
Bone and Soft Tissue Radiography
Chest Radiography.
Extremity Radiography.
Sinus Radiography.

Fluoroscopy, CAT scans, MRI, and MRAs are
performed off site.

Our Radiography department includes a
professionally trained and licensed radiology
technologist.

NURSE PRACTITIONERS (NP) are registered nurses
with advanced academic and clinical experience, which
enables them to manage both medical and nursing
problems. Their practice emphasizes health promotion
and maintenance, disease prevention and the diagnosis
and management of acute and chronic diseases. This
includes taking histories, conducting physical
examinations, ordering, supervising, performing and
interpreting appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests,
prescription of pharmacological agents, treatments and
nonpharmacological therapies for the management of
the conditions they diagnose. The nurse practitioner
serves as a primary care or specialty care provider and
as a consultant for individuals, families and communities
in a variety of ambulatory and inpatient settings.

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS (PA-C) are health care
professionals licensed to practice medicine with
physician supervision.  As part of their
comprehensive responsibilities, Physician
Assistants conduct physical exams, diagnose and
treat illnesses, order and interpret tests, counsel on
preventive health care, assist in surgery, and write
prescriptions. Within the physician-PA relationship,
physician assistants exercise autonomy in medical
decision making and provide a broad range of
diagnostic and therapeutic services.
